Bichon Frise
12 years old
Hi! My name is Shayla. I am a 12-year-old Bichon Frise. Right now I’m a pretty lucky dog because I’ve been spending my time in a foster home while I wait for my forever home to come along.
I wasn't always so lucky though. Before coming to Animal Friends, I used to live in a commercial breeding facility. I was so happy to be rescued! Believe it or not, I didn’t know anything at all about what it’s like to live in a real home with a loving family. But that's all changed now!
The past few months I’ve been learning about all the sights and sounds of everyday life. I've heard my foster mom telling people that I’m doing pretty good. But since I’m still learning, I think I’d do better in a quiet adult home. I’d really like to live with another dog too - you know, a social dog that I could bond with. I sure could learn a lot living with a dog that “knows the ropes!”
